Merchant account key features explained
Instant availability of funds
Cash-flow is important for growing businesses. Once you have received money into your Nochex account you can withdraw your money immediately. They do not hold onto it for four weeks!
No consumer sign up delay
To make the buying experience from your website as seamless as possible, there is no need for your customers to sign up with Nochex and delay paying you, so this reduces your barriers to sale. You receive instant payments (up to the agreed limit values) from non-members of Nochex.
Competitive rates
Their transaction rates start at just 2.9% plus 20 pence for each transaction you receive. The charging structure is competitively tiered, so the more you process the lower your rates become.
Total online payment service
A Nochex Merchant account offers you a total online payment service. Unlike many other payment services, you don’t need both a separate internet Merchant account and a full payment gateway - simply a Nochex Merchant account. A Nochex Merchant account is easy to set up integrate and manage, providing your online business with a competitive edge.
Flexible transaction limits
When you apply for a Nochex Merchant account your transaction limits are fully negotiable. They believe in listening to your business needs and wherever possible, they will make sure you set the right limits for your business.
No monthly charges
When you apply for a Nochex Merchant account there are no fixed monthly fees. You simply pay charges on the transactions you receive, plus a one-time initial set-up charge of just £50.
Easy to integrate and manage
Enabling your website to accept Nochex payments is easy. There is a range of features to help you manage the payments for your online business including payment links, configurable payment pages with Automatic Payment Confirmation call back to clear payments faster and a comprehensive fraud management service.
Dedicated account manager
Nochex Merchant account holders have their own account manager who you can reach directly by telephone or email.

Chargeback Protection
One of the biggest costs and risks for most online merchants can be card fraud where cardholders details are dishonestly used by someone else to obtain goods from online sellers and merchants.
Chargebacks occur when a card holder disputes a card payment. They may arise for a range of reasons including for example the cardholder may claim not to have received the goods, or that the goods were not of acceptable quality, or they may deny that they authorised the card transaction.
The Nochex Chargeback Protection system is a free service that they offer to Nochex Merchants that has been specifically designed to help you both reduce your risk of card fraud, and give your customers increased confidence in your payment system.
When you receive a card payment through Nochex, to help you to reduce the risk of online fraud and ensure that you ship to the correct card holder, they provide you with a range of information including the name and address details of the cards used to make purchases from you.
If a Chargeback claim does unfortunately occur, the Nochex Anti Chargeback Team will help you defend the chargeback for you. Most other payment services make an administrative charge (typically around £10 per letter), for this service when a chargeback occurs. Nochex do not make a administrative charge for defending your chargebacks and this is included as part of your service.
Chargeback Guarantee
In addition to the Nochex Chargeback Protection system, when you receive payment from a fully registered Nochex member, they offer Nochex Merchants the unique Nochex Chargeback Guarantee. If a Chargeback arises because the customer denies having authorised the card transaction, Nochex will indemnify you from that Chargeback (terms and conditions apply). Chargebacks and Retained Balance
With the exception of their Chargeback Guarantee, in common with all card payment service providers the responsibility for Chargebacks to your Nochex account lies with you, but they do their best to help you reduce the risks.
When you successfully apply for a Nochex Merchant Account you agree that Nochex holds a retained balance to offset against Chargebacks. The value of the retained balance will be agreed with you when you apply for a Nochex Merchant Account. The retained balance is normally built up from transactions you receive. You do not have to deposit this amount yourself and if you ever close your Nochex Merchant account the retained balance will be refunded to you, less any allowance for Chargebacks.
If you have a Chargeback that has been defended by Nochex but is ultimately lost then the cost of that chargeback transaction will be offset against your retained balance.
UK and International payments
By default you will be able to accept payments from the following UK issued cards, including MasterCard, Switch, Solo, Maestro, Visa Debit, and Visa Electron.
If you also need to accept international payments apply to allow payments from most international territories.
